Is this short essay confusing?

As I am involved in scientific research on rainwater harvesting for non-potable uses, I’d like to continue working on this. I want to get depth knowledge on the technologies which have been developed in the United Stated to capture storm water and figure out the best way to utilize it. Therefore, saving potable water and reducing water bill.
Also, I’m interested in structural engineering, so this area might be one that I’d rather focus my studies in on.
