Is this sentense correct in American English?

In my math class if there is no calculators on the wall that means my teacher is absent, So is it correct to say that?

1)I don't think that the teacher is here, but the calculators are up there.

2)How much is left?

So, number one is correct but I don't get number two. Number two is a different sentence.
