I got corrected when I said this today. "I'll do it when I come home".
The correct sentence was supposedly "i'll do it when I get home"
Was what I was saying today grammatically wrong?

"I'll do it when I come home". This sounds like the persion you are talking to is in your home, eg your husband or wife.
"I'll do it when I get home". This doesn't have the above implication. So say it this way.
