Is this sentence wrong?

As a humble opinion to you, as I always mention to my students, I would suggest that you consider the main focus and overall "picture" of a sentence or passage after reading it.

I think the above sentence is so wrong.

Does it mean 'I' is 'a humble opinion'?

Should there be a 'what' before 'I always mention to my students'?
