Is this sentence worded in the proper way?

FYI- Goldmoon is the plainswoman. Tanis, Caramon, Tika, Flint, Tasslehoff, and Berem left Kalaman soon thereafter in an attempt to rescue Laurana from Neraka, while Goldmoon and Riverwind decided to remain in the city because the plainswoman was pregnant
