FYI- Palin is Raistlin's nephew. However, his role in the war was not entirely over, as Raistlin delivered to Palin the key to defeating Chaos in the final battle in the Abyss: the spellbook of Magius, from which his nephew cast a spell to defeat the minions of Chaos that not even Magius himself was capable of casting.
