'People were not allowed to have long hair as men
nor wear mini-skirts as women.'

Is this sentence grammatically correct or incorrect?
If it is correct, did you think this is awkward or not?

I think this is better.
'Men were not allowed to have long hai
nor were women allowed to wear mini-skits.'

If you can think up a better paraphrase,
