Both #3 and #5 are possible there. If the question was supposed to have only one correct answer, the authors of the book made a mistake.

No. I would not say it like that. Number 3 is the BEST answer. In a great many multiple choice tests, you are supposed to choose the best answer, not just any correct answer. Sometimes they put several correct answers among the choices just to make the test more difficult.
