I have another question.

if this is active, why here use "be caught up"?

isn't "caught" a past participle of catch?

is the phrase "caught up" a predicative here? is it used as adjective?

"to catch up (with)" is a phrasal verb. It means to come from behind to get even. Examples:

I saw my friend walking about a block down the street, and I wanted to talk to him, so I ran and finally caught up with him.
