Is this sentence properly worded?
After Aesperus’s departure, a vicious fight erupted between the two friends and mercenaries, but the Veruna armsmen significantly outnumbered the pair and it seemed that their deaths would be inevitable until the arrival of Sarth Khul Riizar, a formidable tiefling sorcerer who had been searching for the Infiernadex to study the arcane knowledge that it contained.
