Is this sentence OK?

Dear all,

Is this sentence correct?

"How many people have been to see uncle Henry in the last month?"

It sounds a bit strange to me, I'd think it ought to be "have been here" or "have been there" instead of just "have been". But I'm not sure.

Best wishes

U ncle Henry. Otherwise, fine. It is a strange idiom, I suppose, if you're not used to it.

Hi CalifJim

Thanks a lot for your answer! I think I have heard this "been" for "gone" before, now that you mention it in the other example sentence, which sounds more familiar.

Have a nice day,
