Is this sentence gramatically correct?

Is this text gramatically correct?


Move the cursor to the first non-whitespace character of the line. If the cursor is already there, move it to the beginning of the line.

Is the word then necessary after the comma? "..... , then move it to the beginning of the line."

Zoltán Király Is the word then necessary after the comma? Not necessary, no, but it does no harm. It is hard to imagine why you would want them to move the cursor elsewhere if it is already where you wanted them to put it in the first place, but I guess there are forces at work I am unaware of.
