Is this sentence gramatically correct?


When I try to embody the heroic adventures I read about though I quickly realize that they are made for a fantasy world because they usually wouldn’t work in ours.

When I try to embody the heroic adventures I read about, though, I quickly realize that they are made for a fantasy world because they usually wouldn’t work in ours.

(But I prefer "however" to "though".)

And I'm not too happy with the split infinitive: "I quickly realize".
