Is this sentence correctly worded?

FYI- The chromatics are the evil wyrms. Upon their arrival at the siege, the metallic dragons engaged the chromatics in a brutal aerial battle, and ultimately defeated the force of evil wyrms with the assistance of the monastery’s remaining defenders.
