Is this Sentence Correct in terms of grammar and meaning
Hi Experts,
I am applying for a fellowship in screenplay writing,Is the below parapgraph correct both in terms of grammar and the emotion i am trying to convey.(It is to be written in below 100 words)
"
After having failed twice at my attempt to get into NYU,I started a rigorous
Self-study of cinema by watching and “breaking down” movies from birth of cinema (1895)
until digital age(2011), I believe I have the ability to construct a story suited to
Cinematic medium based on my life experiences ,observations, and imagination.
This fellowship gives me an opportunity to interact with experts ,and to assess
and subsequently improve myself both in terms of art and craft aspect of
Screenplay writing.
