Is this sentence correct grammatically?

Hell is not the fire - It's the emptiness

Top answer

Unless you have mentioned "fire" and "emptiness" previously in such a way that " the fire" and " the emptiness" are appropriate, it doesn't read properly. You may mean this: **** is not fire – it's emptiness. Note also the capitalisation, the full stop at the end, and the difference between a dash (– or —) and a hyphen (-).
