Is this sentence factually correct and grammatically correct?
Is ascorbic acid the chemical name and is the sentence grammatical?
Vitamin C was first sold under its chemical name ascorbic acid.

There is no chemical difference at all between ascorbic acid and vitamin C. They are two names for the same chemical compound: the generic name, and a common brand name.
