Is this sentence correct - conjuction "however"?

"You've chosen unusual things which is good, however, you should focus on grammar a bit more next time."

I would like to ask whether however in this sentence is well used with commas. Shouldn't it be better ...;however,...with apostrophe in front?

Because I've known that It is not a conjunction so it is not able to join two sentences to make a longer one. So how is it possible that even with commas it was used in the way of joning two sentences together, wasn't it?

In addition, is it okay not to use any article before grammer?

(This sentence has been written by my english teacher.)

Thank you very much in advance.Emotion: smile

Hi, As it stands, it is a run-on sentence because the independent clauses in it are joined together without the correct grammar. These would be correct, then: You've chosen unusual things, which is good. However, you should focus on grammar a bit more next time.

Your teacher may have been in a hurry because some of the punctuation isn't exactly right. I've shown the omitted punctuation in red.
