Is this sentence correct?

Hi,

Is the following sentence correct?

"The 300 lux light intensity decreases the TAC level only during the first seven days and does not show a significant difference with the control group after this period of time."

Thanks!

Yes, it is correct. However, if you will allow me, I would like to make a suggestion. This sentence borders on being a run-on sentence because the second clause basically has an implied subject.

  • I have heard arguments among grammar teachers as to whether this constitutes an independent clause or not.
  • I'm not aware of an official consensus, so I prefer to err on the side of avoiding confusion.

I say this sentence at least twice a week! If I miss my opportunity to say it, I get bumps and itchy as ****...then again, that could very well be something else.

But, the sentences are grammatically correct!
