In the U.S, we now generally enjoy a quite comfortable life. However, in some parts of the world, many people are still suffering from food shortages.
Q1) Is it better to say, we "are now enjoying" instead of we "now enjoy?" It seems to me that I've never seen people say "be enjoying something" except when they mean "having a lot of fun" by that.
Q2) Is it better to say, "quite comfortable lives" instead of "a quite comfortable life?" In my understanding, I think I should stick to "a comfortable life" because the writer may want to emphasize a comfortable life on a national level rather than on an individual level.
