I think you mean: Eventually, I broke with that (terrible) video-game addiction. Man, it felt like finally getting unleashed. However, I would use "break" instead of "break with" because the latter can indicate a break with tradition or some other normal activity/routine, whereas the former is more often used for contexts involving addictions/bad habits.
