Is this sentence correct

I think that a verb is missing in the following sentence.

Especially the station platform which was so crowded that less than twenty people were able to get into the train.

It's not just a verb that is missing. The group of words has no main clause. It is therefore not a complete sentence.

Particularly, the station platform was so crowded that less than twenty people were able to get into the train.

You have altered the structure of the original text.

If you want to do that, your version is OK except the use of 'particularly' is not quite right.
eg In particular, the station platform was so crowded that less than twenty people were able to get into the train.
