Is this sentence correct?

HI, I wrote the sentence below but I am not sure how it sounds on native ears.

Every single person who calls at home, after hearing my voice and my name, gets confused and asks me if I am a boy.

I am wondering if there is any way to rephrase the underlined phrases

since it feels like there is a room for improvement.

As for "calls at home", is it also possible to omit "at"? Which one would sound better?

As for the second underlined phrase,

I want to rephrase it to mean something along the lines of "I am mistaken for a boy" or "people mistake me for a boy"

Are these alternatives acceptable?

I would greatly appreciate it for any help I could get.

Thanks.

Do "Everyone who calls at home" or "Everyone who calls home" sound rather awkward

or are they still usable?

'Calls at home' sounds like the person is visiting the house. 'Calls home' confuses whose home is being spoken of.
