Hello,Is this sentence correct ?      I   have  visited  a lot of  galleries  during   my  vacation.    I  was  wondering  if  "Present Perfect"  can be used  with "During phrase".  Any comment would help ,TasmanTiger

I have visited a lot of galleries during my vacation. Yes.

I was wondering if "Present Perfect" can be used with "During phrase". Yes, but it implies the period mentioned has continued up to the present time.

eg I have visited a lot of galleries during the last week. (ie the week ending today)

but not

eg I have visited a lot of galleries during last January.

Hi

The "During phrase" can be used in most sentences. All the following are correct...

I have visited a lot of galleries during my vacation

[..but the vacation is not over yet]

I visited a lot of galleries during my vacation

[..and the vacation is now over]

I will visit a lot of galleries during my vacation

[..and I am looking forward to it]

The present tense needs care...

[What are you doing at the moment?..]

I am visiting a lot of galleries during my vacation

[..this is what I am doing at this time]

[What do you do in the summer?..]

I visit a lot of galleries during my vacation

[..this is the kind of thing I do in the summer]
