Is this sentence correct?

Dora, as a single mother of two young children, has to struggle for survival. Can I leave out the commas?

Yes, in that order, both commas are required.

No. You can't leave them out. The proper noun Dora is already as restricted as you can get. It specifies one person and no other already. So only non-restrictive phrases and clauses can be added, and that means commas are needed
