Is this sentence correct

I saw it in my book:
The person in the house next to mine knows someone who met the Queen.

It's a little convoluted but yes, it's ok. Presumably it was written that way to create a deliberate effect - it certainly distances the speaker from the Queen.

It's a little convoluted but yes, it's ok. Presumably it was written that way to create a deliberate effect - it certainly distances the speaker from the Queen.

Oddly enough, I had the opposite impression.....sort of a "six degrees" reduced to a lesser number.
