Is this sentence changed correctly into the passive voice
Someone wrote this sentence and asked for it to be changed to the passive voice:
Active: "The majority would identify a woman’s main responsibility as being associated with family or housework."
To,
Passive: "A woman's responsibilty as being associated with family or housework would be identified by the majority."
I realise the active voice would be prefered, but have I changed the voice to passive correctly?

Well, you left out the word "main" which is pretty key the sentence, but that transformation is not great. A woman's main responsibilty would be identified by the majority as being... makes more sense to me than tacking on the passive bit at the end.

Well, you left out the word "main" which is pretty key the sentence, but that transformation is not great.

All I know about passive/active voice is that passive is when the subject is either placed later in the sentence as a prepositional phrase 'by...' or is omitted all together.

"Being associated" is a passive formation. It consists of a form of the verb "be" and the past participle of the verb "associate".
Look at a simpler form:
People associate women with housework. (active use of the verb "associate")
Women are associated with housework. (passive = a form of "be" and the past participle)

I think I'm starting to get this and realise something.
Sometimes the voice does change, such as the exemplary sentence, within the sentence. The reason I was confused about this change in voice within a sentence is because I reaslise how common it is, even though passive voice is frowned upon, in many circumstances...
