"I found that leaning languages gives an ability to see things in the world from different angles."

Typo, obviously. You probably want the present perfect. "Gives" wants an indirect object pretty badly in this context. Use "the ability". "Thing" is almost always lame, and a simple "the world" takes care of that. So:

"I have found that learning languages gives me the ability to see the world from different angles."

Of course, there are a thousand ways to put that, and there are infinite statements that can be made in the same vein.
