Is this right?

"My friend has very bad luck because..."

It's on an English book, and it doesn't have an "a" between "has" and "very".

It doesn't have the ending so the students can finish the sentence with their own words.

Please help me out!

Thanks in advance!

" It's on an English book, and it doesn't have an "a" between "has" and "very". There's no 'a', because 'luck' is an uncountable noun. It doesn't have the ending so the students can finish the sentence with their own words.
