Is this question correct (12)

Context:
After breakfast, he phoned Mary. He told her that the weather forecast was very good, and asked her about the food for the picnic. Because she was very busy, she asked him to do the shopping.

Can I assume that this question is right according to the context?
Why did Mary ask Peter to buy the food for the picnic?

Thanks in advance.

The text doesn't actually say that she asked him to buy the food for the picnic. It may be reasonable to assume that this is what she meant, but it is not 100% certain.

Hi GPY,
Thanks! that was my doubt.
Then it will be better to ask, Why did Mary ask Peter to do the shopping?'

Maybe so. However, it's a rather uninspiring question because the answer is so obviously contained verbatim in the final sentence, and you have to understand almost nothing about the first two sentences. Also, Peter's name is not mentioned in the text.

GPYlso, Peter's name is not mentioned in the text.
Right! But it is mentioned before in the story.
