Hello friends. I (as a student) am writing a letter to my professor. He asked me to contact him after Dec. 10th to discuss about a proposal. I wonder if the following email (My reply) is polite. I don't know why I am in doubt.
Dear [First Name], Hello, Thanks a lot for letting me know. I was going to contact you in early December (according to the previous email) for setting up X accounts, mailing list, etc. It seems that you are busy these days. I wonder if I have to contact you after Dec. 10th or I can contact you before that date for setting up. I also wanted to thank you again for sending me your interesting papers. I tried to understand them in high level and also in details (mathematical formulations and implementation details). During reading the papers, I realized that I have weakness in X but I studied a little bit around it to get the concept. Regarding the proposal, if you have a specific project I would be happy to hear and discuss about that; otherwise I will try to prepare a proposal based on the papers I have read. I have confirmed my flight. I will be in X on X and I can start my work the same day. Thank you
