We have been (gone is not appropriate if you are using for later, it would mean you have had a long long travel til you reach NY and have come back home) to New york for a very long time but we don't know it very well yet.
My son has gone to the USA recently (now is not appropriate to use since you say he would keep in touch with you) and he contacts me every week.
My brother has never been in an art gallery. (If you omit the preposition, that would mean he wants to become an art gallery or so)

The rest of the sentences are correct.
