Is this passage worded correctly?

On learning that Makaralonga was to be executed as a prisoner of war, Tol requested that he be allowed to be the executioner. Tol had promised that the tribal chieftain would not be killed if he surrendered during their fight in the forest, so with the help of Felryn, the young warrior set up a false execution and secretly allowed the Dom-shu chieftain to return to his home. Makaralonga in turn praised Tol for his honor and declared that the young man was now like a son to him. Makaralonga decided to thereby go under the name of Voyarunta, which translated to "Uncle Corpse", and also promised that he would have his tribe make peace with Ergoth.
