Tol blamed himself for Nazramin being able to seize the throne and for the loss of Valaran, but he had decided that the defense of the empire was no longer his responsibility. Valaran was also searching for Tol at that time, and hired a half-elven huntress named Zala to find the exiled warlord and bring him to Daltigoth. Valaran told Zala to begin her search in Juramona, which she thought would be the best place to find clues to Tol’s whereabouts. Zala immediately departed Daltigoth, and after many days of travel, which included avoiding marauding nomads, she reached Juramona.
