While Tol and the landed hordes were battling the nomads, Tylocost and Zala were leading the Juramona Militia to the rendezvous at the Caer River. At first, nomad warbands continually attacked the motley force of Ergothians, but after finding themselves faced with Tol’s tactics and Tylocost’s leadership, the plainsmen quickly gave up their attacks and began to flee at the approach of the Ergothians. The militia’s only serious battle occurred five days into the journey, when they discovered a large nomad camp amidst the hill county northeast of the Caer confluence. The Ergothians defeated the nomad force, and it was discovered that the encampment contained all of the treasures and goods that had been taken by the plainsmen during their many raids.
