Is this passage all correct?

The Ergothians tried to form themselves into their usual fighting formations, but the lizard-men prevented all attempts, creating a distinct disadvantage for the imperial warriors. The battle quickly became a formless brawl with the bakali slowly pushing the Ergothians to the edge of the river. Breyhard then ordered that the rafts and boats used by his army to cross the river be cut loose in order to prevent the lizard-men from crossing the river in strength. With retreat no longer available, the Ergothians were forced to continue fighting until the bakali had slaughtered every one of them. Although the lizard-men had once again inflicted a major defeat on the empire, they received many casualties during the battle. With Breyhard’s army destroyed, Crumont had his hordes return across the Dalti River and fall back to the Ackal Path, ready to defend the capital from a bakali assault. However, the attack never came; the lizard-men disappeared once more into the rich farm country northwest of Daltigoth, and Ackal V ordered the Great Horde to search them out.
