Is this passage all correct?

A few days from the city, the small army encountered a band of bakali (a race of lizard-men), who had been slaughtering the Ergothians who made their homes around Ropunt, the forest of central Ergoth. The bakali initially used a magical mist to cause the Ergothian soldiers to fall unconscious, but Tol was unaffected due to the power of his nullstone. Tol defeated the small group of bakali that attempted to ambush his troops, although not before Valvorn was slain and Miya was taken captive. When the Ergothians awakened, it was discovered that some of them had been afflicted by the Red Wrack, which somehow had been infused within the magical mist. Tol and his force quickly found the camp of the bakali, defeated the lizard-men, and freed Miya as well as another prisoner, the skilled mage Mandes.
