Is this passage all correct?

Anovenax’s previous plans had not brought him the swift victory that he had expected against the imperial army since Ergothian priests had been employed by the empire to work a powerful and prolonged wind spell that held the Tarsan fleet at bay on the sea outside of the city. Twice the Tarsans had tried to destroy the clerics; first, in a night raid that had failed, and then with magic of their own. Their hired mages had called forth a flock of fire-ravens, living birds made of flame. Imperial spellcasters countered with torrential rain and the fire-ravens were extinguished before they could cause any serious damage. As a result, Anovenax and his army concentrated their main attack on the tents that housed the clerics.
