Is this part of my cover letter written correctly

Through this project, I hope to develop new methods to study how phosphorus can play a pivotal role in photosynthesis and electron transport performances in despite of shortage of phosphorus in the system. I am also interested to investigate the growing rate of oat while using insufficient amount of phosphorus. Subsequently, I intend to understand the exact mechanism, through which biological and biophysical processes of photosynthesis will occur and how exactly we can trace the electron flow in the chlorophyll.
