Grammar

Is this part grammatical?

Hello,

When I was reading this sentence, I found  a  grammatical mistake. So I noticed this  error  to publishing company.
But unfortunately  the company's staff would not accept my suggestion.
I need your advice to solve this problem.
The problem is like this ;

"The  many  Korean  performes and artists who have been appearing on the world stage in recent years represent another example of Korea's potential."

I think  Determiner "The" and "many" can't be used together
so I sggested   "The"  should be deleted   or  it should  be replaced  with  "Many of the Korean ~"

What do you think about my opinion ?

Good day!

Hi, Clive

Thank you for replying my question and also correcting my composition.

But my grammar book says "Before determiners (e.g. a, the, my, tis) and pronouns, we use much of and many of."

This shows "much/many of + Detrminer + noun" rule.
The book is Practical English Usage written by Michael Swan ,Oxford.

Hi,

I don't know why Michael S do not speak of this. Perhaps he does, in some section we have not found.

If you google 'the many', you can find lots of examples.
