As an additional measure to prevent anyone from discovering secret lore about the Rage, Sammaster ordered Malazan and a large flight of chromatic dragons to destroy the Monastery of the Yellow Rose, a heavily fortified monastery dedicated to Ilmater that was located high in the Earthspur Mountains in Damara. Journeying through the foothills of the Galena Mountains, Dorn, Raryn, Kara, and Chatulio reached the monastery only to realize that it was under siege by the force of wyrms serving Sammaster. Determined to discover the knowledge about the Rage that was hidden within the monastery, the group eventually found a secret tunnel that led into the structure.
