After several weeks of travel by ship, Dorn and his companions reached the Moonsea and landed at Elmwood, a small settlement along the southern coast. Upon their arrival, the group discovered that the Zhentarim, an evil organization centered in the western Moonsea city of Zhentil Keep, had occupied the town and were taking advantage of the chaos created by the Rage of Dragons to attempt to gain control of all the trade across the Moonsea. Refusing to be extorted by the Zhents, the companions immediately clashed with the conquerors and were forced to seek refuge with a group of townspeople hidden within the sacred grove of Elmwood’s resident druid, Ezril Treewarder.
