Is this making sense? #1

Hi all, is the sentence below making sense?

-Translating means being patient.

What I'd like to mean by the sentence is decent translation requires a good deal of time, and "translating requires me to be patient" could be clearer but I'd like to use the sentence if it's making good sense to imply what I mean.
