Is this grammatically correct? No2.

Hi,


The sentence below is from a book, and I would like to know if the underlined part is grammatically correct. Because the subject is "I" not "it". I don't think it's acceptable to omit the subject here.



After having spent a year and a half cooped up in a little office, it felt good to get out and move around.

It's OK for everyday conversation.

if you were writing a story/novel, you would not use "it." As the previous poster stated, you'd say "I felt good" --

After spending a year and a half cooped up in a little office, I felt good getting out and moving around.
