Is this email written correctly
I recently applied for some very good PhD positions and I hope I could get some good news about them in the future. I really spent 4-5 days for each of application to write my cover letter. I was reading their job description very carefully, reading also some relevant articles and writing my cover letter based on their work and what I can contribute to the future of their work. So, I hope my work and my hard work will be paid off in the future.
I would like also to request whether it would be possible for you to provide me an updated version of a letter of recommendation. Because the one I have got from you is from 2014. I was thinking that would be a perfect idea to send them an updated version (2015) if it is possible for you.

Did you have questions on the first part or second? I am not sure want you want. The first part is kind of rough if you mind for the way it was constructed did not reflect the prestige and image of the position.

The first part is kind of rough if you mind for the way it was constructed did not reflect the prestige and image of the position. So not in so many words, I took the liberty to rewrite it.
