Is this correctly structured?

Hi!
Is this sentence correctly structured?

During this time the parties have failed to try to reconcile and to restore cohabitation because they live in different countries and both of them have a life of their own.

This is correct, although I would say either: to reconcile and restore cohabitation Or to reconcile or to restore cohabitation. Also, did you mean that they failed to act (failed to try ) or that they failed to accomplish (failed to reconcile)?

Also, did you mean that they failed to act (failed to try)
