Is this correct in American English?

If the teacher gave us two worksheets, it is correct to ask my friend this question "Which one are you doing?" but it is incorrect to ask him like that "Which one do you do?", right?

Bassa,

Stop putting "Is this correct in American English?" at the beginning of everything you post! Here you are notasking if the sentence is correct in American English. You are using English to ask the question itself. Do you understand the difference? I hope so.

And if I want to change it to the past tense I would say "which one were you doing?". it is better than saying "Which one did you do?", right?

Not really. If he finished and some time has passed, you would probably ask "Which one did you do?"
