Is this correct in American English?

"Evolution is based on.......... ." it is different that "Evolution based on............ .",right?

Hi, Both are correct, but you would use these phrases differently in a sentence. eg Evolution is based on natural selection. eg Evoluton based on natural selection was first explained by Darwin.
