Is this correct grammar?

I renounce the covenants between my brother and his friends

Top answer

The given sentence is theoretically grammatical, but the logic is off. The covenants are between your brother and his friends, and so if anyone would renounce them it would be your brother or one of his friends, not you. The following would be okay: I renounce the covenants between my friends and me.
