Given these results, it would seem that there does not exist a relationship between
stream order and the amount of mercury present in the two types of fish tissue
samples at both locations. While the results show an increase in the median amount
of mercury at stream order 7 across both fish type and location, they also show a
significant unexplained decrease at stream order 8. In addition, the principle of
bio-magnification seems to have played a key role in increasing the amount of
mercury pollution in the predator samples. Therefore, this report accepts the null ?
hypothesis in answering the research question proposed.
